How To Be Rich

Some plain, hard truths about the power of thought, word and action.

Simply defined, thought is the act of thinking.  As the fruit springs from the seed, so every word and action of a man spring from his thoughts. A successful life is not a thing of luck, but is the result of positive thinking.

“For as a man thinks, so he is.” – Proverbs 23:7a

Positive thinking is important to everyone as air is to the lungs. The born again person must keep his/her thoughts so filled with Truth, Love, Peace and Bliss, that poverty, sin, sickness and untimely death cannot overpower him/her.

Poverty, sin, sickness and untimely death are often the result of bad thinking, for we always receive what we believe. Therefore, let us change our thinking habits and begin to think good thoughts. Generally, anything and everything can be achieved when first achieved in thought. Simply because thought leads to word and word to action and action to reaction.

Thought is the greatest constructive and destructive power. So, true riches must begin with good thoughts, as words and actions without strong thoughts are like legs without muscles and trees without roots and houses without foundations.

For the upwardly mobile, big thinking is necessary for riches. In fact, there is no obstacle bigger than big thinking. If your thoughts are small, it is futile to ask for anything big. Mark 9:23 informs us, “If you can believe, all things are possible to one that believes.”

For the sick, thoughts of health can induce healing and for the weak, thoughts of strength can generate energy. Consequently, for the one who is endeavouring to be successful, positive thinking becomes a habit.

In Luke 17:21, we read: “Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” When we enter into the realms of good thoughts we see God and all the good things of life are attracted (Matthew 6:33).

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  – Proverbs 18:21

Every word you speak is powerful. It is impossible for us as children of God to speak without control.  Positive words can turn poverty to prosperity. Let your words illustrate your positive thinking.

As a born again person your words must be free from envy, anger, gossip and violence and filled with Truth, Love, Peace and Bliss.

I have spoken words of life upon a dead man and he resurrected, and I have told sick persons they will recover and they did.  I have vowed never to misuse words, but to use words  only to bless, to teach and to heal. Truly, bad words can destroy destinies and can result into poverty, for you can be “snared with the words of your mouth” (Proverb 6:2). I always encourage people that cross my path to make a habit of speaking positive words, inspite of whatever their feelings or circumstances may be. Daily I hear testimonies of how positive words are transforming lives. (See James 3:4-13; Deut. 27:24; Rev. 8:2-5; Numbers 14:28; Proverbs 17:4; 18:7).

God creates with the WORD, and the WORD is God. As born-again persons we have dominion over poverty through our mighty confessions. Lo! a lot of us neglect the right use of the WORD and hinder the power of God from reaching us.

Here are a few examples of negative confessions that ensnares –

“The way I am feeling I am sure I will die,” “I have tried my best, I accept my poverty,” “I have no helper that is why I am a failure,” “Things are going bad in our country that is why things are going bad with me.”

These confessions are complete lies and must be rejected. Tough times do not last but tough people do and when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Begin to speak in new tongues. You are more than conquerors and there is no stronghold you cannot pull down. With God all things are possible.

“Faith without work is dead.” – James 2:26

Nothing can be gotten without action except poverty and dirt. Action is to act to the best of our abilities on our thoughts and words. Action is hard work and hard work does not kill, it is like money in a savings deposit, it appreciates, never depreciates. Sow and you must reap. When you take action remember the spider who falls again and again while building it’s cobweb, but never gives up until the web is built. Riches are the fruits of great thoughts, words and actions. It is not a flash in the pan. Shakespeare said, “The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their neighbours slept were toiling all through the night.”

(See Exodus 20:9; Ephesians 4:28; 2 Thess. 3:8,10-12; Genesis 3:19; Eccl. 9:10; Proverbs 28:19; 10:4; 27:23; 10:5; 31:27,28; 13:4; 24:30,31; 1 Tim 5:8.).

True Riches

“What shall it profit a man if shall gain the whole world and lose his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

– Matthew 16:26

Every billionaire will someday grow old, fall sick and die and cannot depart from this world with a penny. Riches are okay but true riches are better.

True riches involves living right and righteous in public and in private, and using your time, talents and resources in selfless service. Above all, true riches means worshipping God in Truth and in Spirit.
